You know what I look like! Many of you fear me, I am so famous when Halloween is around the corner.  I am a Spider!  I’m not a typical insect as I do not have 3 distinct body segments instead, my body has two main divisions.  My front portion has my eyes so I can find you, mouth and fangs so I can possibly bite you and a sucking stomach which my 8 beautiful legs are attached to.  My rear portion contains my stomach as well as my digestive organs. There’s so many of us so, our colours, shapes and sizes vary.

Where you

might find us

 You can find me outside.  I prefer covered areas so I will hang out in tree hollows, in shrubs and under over hangs of roofs, just to name a few places.  I will also make it inside of your home, I will migrate to dark damp places there such as your basement, crawl space and the corners of any or all rooms.

Well most of you fear me.  The Oxford Dictionary (yes I may be ugly but it doesn’t mean I’m dumb) says fear for let’s say a spider is a feeling of anxiety concerning the outcome of something or the safety and well being of someone.  So if you fear me, you will have an extreme amount of stress. I’m pretty sure you already have enough to stress about!  Plus, you don’t know what kind of spider I am, in BC there’s one kind of venomous spider out there called the Black Widow (what a scary sounding name); if that spider bites you, it could be fatal. There are other of us that do bite too and obviously with any bite there could be cause for concern.
